Berry has been playing the sax since 1989 and has been teaching at Blowout since 2001. She teaches here Mondays and Tuesdays fortnightly, and Fridays and Saturdays, as well as in schools for BANES council and privately. She has a degree in Biology and spent 3 years working for WDCS, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. However, Berry decided to give this up to get her Certificate of Teaching from the ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and teach and gig full time. She fronts the jazz-funk quintet, The Berry Goddard Band, (otherwise known as BGB) who gig regularly in Bath and Bristol, (see www.bathandbristolmusic.co.uk for gig listings and further info), is part of the three-piece horn section in the professional function band Dr Chocolate, plays duo and trio jazz gigs, and guests with other bands, such as Bristol-based jazzers Cass Caswell and John Martin, and the Boogie Woogie and Blues band Dudlow Joe. Berry teaches all the saxes, flute and clarinet. Listen to Berry Goddard playing some original compositions by her guitarist John Diver.
